Bev Shaffer

Bev Shaffer is a chef, cooking school instructor, author and columnist. She is the Director of Mustard Seed Market's Cooking Schools in Solon and Akron, Ohio. Bev's first culinary love is teaching and she always has wonderful recipes to share with lots of tips, techniques and wit to go along with them.

The breadth of Bev's expertise and detailed knowledge in recipe development includes Italian and East African cuisine, bread and pizza baking, seafood, pastries and desserts, chocolate and cooking for specialty diets such as vegetarian, gluten-free/wheat-free, and for individuals with food allergies or diabetes. What sets her apart is her ability to create recipes that are delicious in so many diverse culinary areas.

Bev also teaches in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic, the Cleveland Botanical Garden, Akron General Wellness Center and Summa Health Systems. She has made over 70 appearances on four major Cleveland networks, on public television and as host of an award winning cooking show.

Bev's weekly radio spot on WAKR's Morning Drive time program features quick and easy, seasonal recipes with tips. She is the co-author of the cookbook, No Reservations Required, and a columnist ("Ask Bev") for the Cleveland Plain Dealer "Sunday Magazine".

Bev's recipes have been published in numerous magazines, newspapers and on Internet sites including: Chocolatier Magazine; National Turkey Federation web site and as a "Chef In Residence" on Vanilla.com.
